Animation
Using a combination of 3Ds Max, Maya, Photoshop, and After Effects.
The goal of this project was to create something a bit harder than I was used to. I tasked myself with Olaf because he has a lot of complexity. I used reference images to model against and I am happy with how the model turned out. The animation was a test at what I was capable to do with Maya at the present time. I enjoyed making him dance and I am happy with the combination of everything.
The purpose of Candy was to develop a piece that featured anthropomorphism. After brainstorming ideas, I decided to make different pieces of candy come alive. I brainstormed a storyline for the animation that involved a conflict and a resolution to show the emotions of the characters. One character, the candy cane, started out as a bystander to the assault of the chocolate bar by the candy bag. The scene comes to a happy ending, and all the characters are thrilled. I am happy with how I performed the brief, I believe it tells a "sweet" story.
The scene was modelled and animated using 3Ds Max, and then edited using After Effects. The textures were created using Photoshop.
The purpose of this animation is to recreate an old book called Alice in the Looking Glass. I read the old book, researched the imagery that was associated with it and formed an design for the scene and main character. Selena was modelled freehand in 3Ds Max. I also had to uv-unwrap, texture, rig and animate her. I created the texture for her dress based on the imagery from the book with a current twist. I also added the same twist to the scene to make it unique and stand out. I added some unique animations of Alice to bring her to life and show a bit of her personality. Overall, I am happy with the result and hope Selena lives happy ever after through the portal.
